Regarding the Results of the Just-Concluded OAS General Assembly

To those hoping for a meaningful change in U.S.-Cuban policy– including the termination of the half century old U.S. embargo that never gained the wide adherence of other nations – the just concluded OAS General Assembly meeting in San Pedro Sula represents a huge failure for the State Department– particularly a personal setback for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. COHA will be issuing an analysis tomorrow of this major setback to prospects of a more rational regional policy which was anticipated under the Obama administration.
