Margaret Scott does the illustrations for the Washington Report on the Hemisphere.
She was born in New York City, and graduated from Syracuse University. She later studied art at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
A freelancer in Washington, D.C. for many years, Margaret has worked for Smithsonian Magazine, the American Psychological Association, Reading Is Fundamental, the U.S. Department of Education, and countless other publications and organizations.
In 1990 Margaret began illustrating for newspaper op-ed pages as a frequent contributor to the Washington Post, Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, San Francisco Chronicle, and many other U.S. and Canadian dailies. A few years later, she joined Newsart.com, a website providing quality art to newspapers and other publications in the United States and around the world. She shares the site with 11 other artists and is an ongoing contributor.
